Hi! I'm Dr. Tutu Habib 

My students call me Ms Habib, and some affectionately call me Mummy Palms Tutors (funny, I know! 😊). My love for teaching Math started decades ago, when I would help my classmates understand complex topics in ways our teachers couldn't always explain to us. Even then, I discovered something important: sometimes, children don't struggle with Math because they cannot understand it. They struggle because no one has explained it to them in a way that makes sense.

In 2017, I started creating online Math video lessons to help children discover that Math isn't as difficult as it sometimes seems. My goal was simple: to make Maths easier to understand and help children develop the confidence to tackle challenging questions.

Since then, Palms Tutors has grown to reach thousands of learners through our Maths courses and personalised tutoring. Through clear explanations, step-by-step teaching, and purposeful practice, we help children build strong foundations that support them as they progress. But somewhere along this journey, I realised that making Math simple was only part of the work that needed to be done; a child's access to quality education should not be determined by where they live or what their family can afford. 

Yet, in underserved communities, many children face learning challenges that go beyond the classroom. Some struggle with foundational Math skills, some lack access to learning resources, and others have limited opportunities for individual guidance and support. That is why I established Palms Tutors Learning Hub in Awa-Ijebu, Ogun State: a free learning space where children and teenagers from underserved communities can access educational resources, develop digital skills, and receive support to strengthen their learning. 

Through the hub, we are working to bridge learning gaps and give children the opportunity to build the skills and confidence they need to thrive. We've met children who struggled with basic arithmetic, children who had no one to turn to for homework help, and children who had begun to believe that Math simply wasn't for them. Their stories remind us why this work matters. 

Every child deserves the chance to discover what they are capable of when given the right support. The work we do to help one child learn can also help us create learning opportunities for another. Revenue from our paid Math courses helps support the work of our free learning hub, including the resources and day-to-day needs required to keep learning accessible to children in underserved communities.
